The Excalibur XT rod series from Century offers four different lengths and test curves which between them offer the perfect balance of reliable performance, standout build cosmetics and great affordability in a rod which has been manufactured fully in the UK. When you buy a Century carp rod you are becoming part of carp rod manufacturing history that goes back over 45 years and Century are proud to keep driving the rod industry and rod design forward to maintain their place as the longest standing UK carp rod manufacturer.
The Excalibur XT needs to be seen in person to believe the performance and rod finish you are getting at the Century entry price points for 10ft 12ft and 13ft rods. These rods benefit from Century knowledge and experience to produce a carp rod with the highest production efficiency and best value to performance carbon materials to deliver a rod that will lead other rods on the market at these price points.
There are four test curves to choose from.
10ft 3.50lb – might be your preferred choice on small waters with tight swims or to make stalking, travel and mobility easy.
12ft 3.25lb – traditional 12ft length for use on small and medium size waters when you want to focus on fishing playing action in preference to casting longer distances.
12ft 3.50lb – offering extra casting distance and power to fish at longer ranges than the 3.25lb and better suited if using small PVA bags or 3.5oz and 4oz leads.
13ft 3.50lb – the same characteristics as the 12ft 3.50lb but when even longer distances on bigger venues are needed or you have a casting style or angling setup preference that suits longer 13ft rods.
The rod builds feature a 1k carbon surface weave throughout butt and base of tip, Century engraved Black Alumnium butt cap, full shrink rubber handle, lightweight Graphite DPS size 18 reel seat with Black hoods, matt silver grey Excalibur XT logo on the top of the blank and Union Jack flag on underside of blank. The Black Steel frame guides feature a SiC liner and are size 40-12 guides on the 10ft rods and size 50-16 on the 12ft and 13ft rods.

Guideline Range: Numerical 1-10 scale is to help determine how this individual rod model fits amongst other Century carp rods and its suitability to different; action, distance, playability levels. Low numbers indicate a rod has a softer through action suited to short range, close in fishing and greater fish playing focus. Medium numbers are a great all-round rod capability. High numbers are more powerful rod suited to fishing at intermediate and long ranges. These are not set rules as some anglers still fish powerful rods close in and although a low number rod will not be capable of casting 200 yards some anglers may use a boat with that rod to fish long range.
